My concept for Clue the Musical started when I began my research into different versions, and artwork, of the board game. I noticed, that even though the artwork had some revamps, the characters had remained the same visually. I designed this production as if it was a revamp of the game. Starting with giving all of the characters a real-life inspiration that all encompassed many decades, to give the show a feel that it was years in the making. They are as follows; Mrs. Peacock/Joan Crawford, Col. Mustard/Teddy Roosevelt, Miss Scarlet/Marylin Monroe, Prof. Plum/Edgar Allen Poe, Mrs. White/Margaret Thatcher, Mr. Green/John Rockefeller, The Detective/Sherlock Holmes.
This was the first musical I had ever designed and was my first extensive build (i.e. communicating with drapers and stitchers in a shop setting) as a designer.
