With this production, which was an original adaptation very different from the expected one, I wanted to place the story of Snow White in a time period that is not always associated with the stereotypical retelling of the tale. I placed it in the Regency Era because of the simplicity of the female silhouette and thought it was an effective way to display the beauty of both Snow White and the Evil Queen. I believed it to be an effective time period to portray the royalty but also lent itself to a "period" feel for the design of the Dwarfs as well.
The flying Klinglemeisters (The seven dwarfs) are circus performers sent by Gaelina (evil queen) to mine diamonds for her own selfish desires. I wanted them to have a very playful feel that was a nod to the original, and most recognized, version.
