This design was loosely based in a Medieval-inspired time period (again on a $700 budget.) With a fair bit of pulling from stock for all of the base costumes and a bit of ingenuity to create shawls that could turn into ponchos and beggar capes... the show ended up coming together in a way I had only slightly been able to see beforehand. Maiden Mirian was completely built by me, down to her French Hood, and it was super fun to put a vastly independent, strong woman, into a costume that shattered the idea of what a pretty in pink beauty was. Robin Hood is and always will be a story that will live on in our hearts and hopefully, this design will too. Especially the Coyote pelt I sewed onto Prince Johns cape and fastened crystals into its eyes. Ultimately signifying him as a cruel and unusual bloke.
