Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No-good, Very Bad Day is a story of a young 11-year old who just.... has a bad day. Something that we all can relate to. I wanted to approach this design as if it was Alexander, himself, retelling this story from his memory years later. Remembering everything in a childlike memory-esque palette and the print-filled world that only your memory would find when describing the worst day of your childhood. From a classroom full of 10/11-year-olds to kangaroos in the musical number where Alexander proclaims his life would be better if he could just go to Australia to a somewhat creepy shoe salesman that has a sense of what shoes are perfect for you, along with footwork, this show was a blast to design and bring to life.
