My concept for this production was to try and convince the director to set it in the 1970s. The show just had this very fun and funky color scheme that the 70's fit. I wanted to just design the show with the idea of it being a bad community theater production, really stepping into the mind of what a designer of this production, in that time period would come up with. It resulted in a lot of very fun, and sometimes beautifully ugly, color and pattern combinations. Also come complete with 3 burglar sweaters me and my Wardrobe Supervisor knit from scratch.
